The library will be closed Monday, October 14th for staff in-service day.
The Alabama Room is located on the Mezzanine Level. It contains a wide range of resources pertaining to local history and genealogy, as well as rare and archival items that have been donated to us over the years. Items in the Alabama Room are not available for check out but can be used for research within the library. Because the room is unstaffed, it is locked. Please sign in at the Reference Desk and a staff member will let you in.
We have: numerous microfilms; collections of birth and death records; collections of marriage and property records; and books about family history. Some genealogical research has been donated to us and it is available for your research as well.
Books located in the Alabama Room are listed in our catalog, denoted by an ALA in front of the call number (ex: ALA 970.3 BLA). Other items available are:
Past City Directories from various cities in Alabama
